WHO WE ARE
Phi Delta Epsilon Nevada Alpha is an international medical fraternity.  We are the largest and oldest co-ed medical fraternity in the world, spanning hundreds of chapters and thousands of members across the world. Gaining membership in Phi Delta Epsilon is highly competitive and representative of many traits that we value in our future physicians: well-rounded, astute, determined, social, and exceptionally capable. As Phi Delta Epsilon, we mobilize our members to volunteer and engage with the community on public health issues. This fraternity not only helps our members develop professionally, but also helps our members create close, personal bonds with each other.

We are the Nevada Alpha undergraduate chapter at the University of Nevada, Reno, founded in 2012, with the advisorship of Gina Sella and Stephanie Wright. Through our passion and dedication towards excellence in the field of medicine, we have expanded tremendously and initiated many incredibly talented new members since our inception. Our alumni have been accepted and matriculated to prestigious medical institutions such as UC Davis, UNSOM, and UCSC medical schools. We pride ourselves on having an acceptance rate to medical schools much higher than the average University of Nevada, Reno premedical student.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • Competition vs. Camaraderie: It would be an understatement to say that most premedical students are well acquainted with competition. However, a delicate balance between competition and camaraderie among your classmates makes for the best learning and living environment. This is where PhiDE comes in.
  • Connections With UNRSOM: Current medical students who give advice and perspective. Current admissions board members who can talk to you about applying and what you need to get done in order to be a competitive applicant.
  • Advisors Gina Sella and Dr. Stephanie Wright are extremely valuable resources on answering any questions you have about applying to medical school.
  • Study groups for classes and MCAT prep.
  • Volunteering opportunities.
  • Clinic opportunities, some of which offer certifications, such as CPR.
  • Connections within the Northern Nevada medical community.
  • Advice on classes and activities from fellow experienced undergraduates.
